The House Rules Committee just made its position clear. On July 15, 2025, seven Republican members voted to block an amendment that would have forced the release of all government records tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s case. The proposal, introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna of California, aimed to compel Attorney General Pam Bondi to publish the full set of Epstein-related documents within 30 days. The vote failed 5 to 7. Only one Republican, Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina, broke ranks and supported the measure. The rest chose to keep the files sealed.
The names are public. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Michelle Fischbach of Minnesota, Erin Houchin of Indiana, Nick Langworthy of New York, Austin Scott of Georgia, and Morgan Griffith of Virginia all voted no. Brian Jack of Georgia also opposed the release. Chip Roy of Texas missed the vote due to flood-related emergencies in his district. The amendment was attached to the GENIUS Act, a bill focused on crypto regulation. Republicans argued the Epstein measure wasn’t relevant to the legislation. That was the procedural shield.
Republicans just BLOCKED the release of the Epstein Files.
They didn’t flinch.
They didn’t hesitate.
They lined up and voted to keep the truth sealed. The client list is real. The cover-up is active. And the American people are watching. pic.twitter.com/u7SbKfWPiO

The Justice Department released a memo last week stating there is no client list and no blackmail material. That contradicts earlier statements from Bondi, who claimed in February that the list was “sitting on my desk.” The memo also reaffirmed Epstein’s death as suicide. The backlash has been swift. MAGA voters, conservative pundits, and even Trump loyalists are questioning the administration’s handling of the case. Trump himself posted on Truth Social urging supporters to “move on” and called Epstein “somebody that nobody cares about.”
🚨BREAKING: House Republicans just blocked the Epstein files amendment, but Ro Khanna isn’t backing down.
Only one Republican, @RepRalphNorman, had the spine to vote yes.
They think this was the end. It was just the test.
The public won’t forget who chose secrecy over justice.… pic.twitter.com/4TB7YCpiGY

Ro Khanna isn’t dropping it. He said, “We won’t stop until the files are released.” Democrats on the committee echoed that sentiment. Rep. Jim McGovern of Massachusetts said, “I want to know what the hell is in these files.” The vote has become a litmus test. Transparency versus silence. The public is watching. The pressure is building.
