A violent confrontation unfolded in broad daylight Monday in the Soundview section of the Bronx. A man was attacked by two others near Commonwealth and Westchester Avenues. One of the assailants held him in a waist lock while the other kicked and filmed the assault on a cellphone. The victim waited for an opening, reached into his clothing, and fired a concealed handgun over his shoulder. One attacker dropped immediately. The second fled but was also shot. The incident was captured on video and livestreamed by one of the assailants.
The NYPD confirmed the shooting occurred at 12:59 p.m. on July 14. A 27-year-old male was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to the torso and was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition. No arrests have been made. Police are asking for public assistance through the Crime Stoppers Hotline.
Guy seemingly is either being beaten by two other men or perhaps they were robbing him (maybe both) in New York City.

Bronx, New YorkFacts:
Shocking video obtained by News 12 shows a man in a full sweatsuit on the ground…— The Facts Dude (@The_Facts_Dude) July 15, 2025
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic. One woman said she heard the attackers demanding money. “Give me my money,” one shouted. The victim responded, “I don’t have no money.” Then came the gunfire. “Pow pow pow,” she said. “The guy in the orange went down.” Blood was visible on the sidewalk.
The shooter fled toward the subway station. Surveillance footage shows him walking back briefly to assess the scene before disappearing. The NYPD has not released his identity. The livestreamed footage is circulating online and has sparked debate about self-defense laws and urban crime.
New York law allows concealed carry under strict conditions. The shooter’s permit status is unknown. The video shows a small firearm, likely a subcompact pistol. The attackers appeared unarmed, though one may have held a sharp object. The livestream adds a layer of complexity. It shows premeditation on the part of the attackers and may support a self-defense claim.
This incident comes amid rising concern over street violence and the role of social media in amplifying criminal acts. Livestreamed assaults are becoming more common. The NYPD is reviewing the footage and interviewing witnesses.
